Cobb County Issues State of Emergency: Shelter in Place

Cobb County Chairman, Mike Boyce declared a State of Emergency on Tuesday calling for all individuals and families to shelter in place.

The new order, which begins Wednesday at noon, issues a curfew for non-essential businesses to operate. These businesses can only operate between the hours of 6am and 9pm. All restaurants will close dining areas; take out and delivery are still okay.

The county's closing all parks and recreation buildings.

Essential businesses defined in the order will also need to take steps to social distance people from contact with a distance of 6 feet.

Boyce also said the declaration may need to be revised if medical officials believe this isn't slowing the spread of the virus.
